<description>For the release of their annual 'Julekalendar' (Christmas Calendar) Denmark's Radio wanted to create a fun christmas narrative with traditional Danish folk characters. Together they carry a calendar in the mail as they travel from winter wonderland to 'Christmas Island'. The only catch, all of the characters in this piece were part of a rigid diorama - we photographed what we could, but had to rebuild most of the characters from scratch. The result was a quirky stop motion/digital hybrid animation with a fun sense of nostalgia for kids and adults alike.

<description>Anticipating the completion of BC Place's new retractable roof, their Human Resources department needed a video that spoke to the past, present, and future of the building. As well, they wanted to invite people to apply for a variety of corporate and event-day positions. We chose this bright, Las Vegas-inspired treatment to showcase the diversity of events one would experience under the roof of BC Place.

Final Video:

Production:
The biggest challenge in this project was communicating the script without voice over - the project needed to function as well without audio as it did with. We chose a kinetic type treatment based on a style guide created by Karacters Design Group using the 'Houschka' font set and all of it's variants. With those parameters in mind we went to work, illustrating hundreds of graphics and details based on the project theme 'Make Amazing Happen'.

<description>For MTV Denmark’s new block of programming for kids we used iron-on beads to channel childhood creativity and a sense of whimsy. Soon we became a group of grown men hunched over a light table humming and shouting, fleshing out what would later become a soundtrack. The beads took on a life of their own as they smashed into colors and shapes within the confines of a pegged grid. The piece originally called for CG elements, but with the energy that flowed from almost 10,000 beads moving by hand, the magic of stop-motion proved to be enough to create a nostalgic sense of childhood joy.
